The LaVerkin Winterfest is a celebration of winter in Southern Utah, traditionally held early December.  There is live entertainment, a jingle bell run/food drive, light parade, tree lighting, vendors and fireworks.

Mark the evening of Monday, December 7, 2009 on your calendar for LaVerkin's Winterfest Celebration!

The annual Jingle Bell Run will begin at 5:00 pm, and starts at the 435 N. Main La Verkin City Office parking lot.  It is a one-mile fun-run/walk and the entry fee is one (or more-please be generous!) non-perishable food item to be donated to Dixie Care and Share.  As always, participants should come decked out in jingle bells, Santa hats, with running or walking gear.  Please call Cherie Santiago (635-4702) for more information and to register.

The Light Parade will begin at 6:00 pm.  We need entries!  All schools, marching bands, businesses, dance groups, city governments & royalties, families, etc. are welcome! Remember, the more lights the better!  Entries need to be at the La Verkin Elementary parking lot by 5:30 and the route will run north from Center Street along Main Street.  Please call Sandi Gubler @ 635-4231 for more information.

There will be entertainment at the pavilion (dress warmly!) immediately following the Light Parade.  Singing groups and dancing groups as well as a visit from the Big Man (Santa!) himself will be part of the festivities.  Hot chocolate and donuts will be for sale to help raise money for next year's fireworks.  Questions about the entertainment, may be directed to Teresa Gubler at 467-4869

A fireworks show will bring the festivities to a close immediately following the entertainment.  Donations for next year's fireworks show are being accep
