Richard M. Hirschi
I was born in Hurricane, Utah and has lived and worked in Sothern Utah his whole life. He graduated from Hurricane High School in 1968 and was an All-State linebacker for the football team.
Richard has worked for California Pacific/Utah Power and Light, Hurricane City/Fire and EMS and for the Parks and Cemetery department. He had several opportunities to leave the area for promotions but chose to stay in Southern Utah.
Richard has been married to his wife, Ruth for 42 years and has three children and seven grandchildren.
Richard has been retired for 10 years and has served on the city council and as Mayor during his retirement. He loves Southern Utah and enjoys being able to serve the public as a community leader. His goal is to control City growth with help from citizens and City staff and by attending City meetings.
